Situated in between two daughter rivers of the “Mahanadi”, Devi and Kandal, this area where DGBK college exists, remained disconnected from the rest of the world in all weather. Time changed and this area, 45Km away from capital Bhubaneswar, now is properly connected with roads. Passers by are certainly attracted by the amazing greenery of this locality. DGBK College initially established in the year 1980 with the help and initiative of some educationist and persons interested in the field of education to provide higher education to the students. The college campus is situated in the outskirt of holly land of “Lord Dola Govinda” creating a spiritual environment around it. DGBK college availed Govt. concurrence from the session 1981-82 for intermediate course in Arts and vocational and was affiliated with Utkal University in the year 1983. Growing students’ strength urged the college authority to open degree course and as a result degree course was open in the session 1889-90 with 128 seats in Arts and also got affiliation of Utkal University from that session. After introduction of 10 +2 +3 education policy intermediate course has moved under secondary education. Since than it has been imparting +2 level course in Arts with 160 seats, Science with 64 seats and Commerce with 64 seats. Degree education is being provided to the students with Hons in Arts and Science stream.

I am so privileged to be a part of this premier institution and dedicated myself as a “24- hour servant” to the students and the college.
